A Deva Sorceress
Natalya was here since the Eternal War, but stayed primarily in the Astral Sea in the Bright City near her patron God, Ioun. In the early years of the 2nd Era, she came to the mortal world of Ignas and traveled extensively with a small group of Deva. When one of them would die, the others would find the recently reincarnated one and continue on their quest for lost knowledge. Together, they found a vast ruined kingdom below the whirling sands of Aveh. Here, her group had to fight through many monsters and eventually came to the ruins of a throne room. In here, they fought a terrible, giant scorpion that gave the group quite the challenge before dying. It turned to ash and hidden in the dust was a crown of unusual design. The crown was entrusted to Natalya, who took it with her when she left the group after many years of exploring.
She finally settled down in the Frostspire, after she passed the Spinx’s challenge. The tower was originally built in the 1st Era by Sir Thame the Architect and was home to an order of dwarf arcane scholars, The Golden Order, who were all wiped out during the War of Wills. The Frostspire’s last inhabitants was a small group warforged that stayed there for many centuries after the War of Wills and then they left after the Fall of Goldhelm for unknown reasons. Natalya arrived at the Frostspire over a century ago, where she studied the vast library and all the things left behind by the previous inhabitants.
Natalya, eventually, turned her attention to the crown and found out from ancient texts in the library that it was the Scorpion Crown of the Kingdom of Fatima. She spent the last couple decades trying to decipher the magical properties of the crown and she even managed to somewhat disenchant it. Over a year ago, a mysterious and large red-robed figure approached the Frostspire. It called to her telepathically and Natalya felt her mind being scryed by this being. She managed to push It’s thoughts out of her mind, but the being was successful in implanting a desire for the crown’s power. The Crown was all she could think about and so she eventually tried on the crown a year ago. It immediately drove her insane and turned her thoughts towards darkness and entropy. She started conjuring spells of ice monsters to assualt her dwarven neighbors. This in turn made the ruler of Weltall send his forces against her.
She was defeated by our heroes. When the final blow was given, she fell to her knees as the Scorpion Crown fell off her head. The crown sent out a shockwave of magical energies, knocking the group to prone. Natalya shed a tear and said ‘Thank you…’ to the party, before dying.
